Bracket Fungus at Rowhill

Another Friday, and another local discovery: Rowhill Nature Reserve. This small reserve is just outside of Aldershot, and is mainly woodland, with coppiced trees.

I took a slight detour off the 1 1/2 mile circular nature trail and found this Bracket Fungus growing between two felled trees. Sadly, my education lacks tree identification, but the woodland is predominately deciduous, and this could be beech or birch (one of these days I'll buy a book!) According to my book of British Mushrooms and Toadstools however, this is probably a Ganoderma bracket - possibly "Artist's Bracket", but as I couldn't see the underside, I can't be sure.
