To Help Yourself

This shop is quite near to where I live. There will not be much passing trade from pedestrians but certainly he seems to do a good trade from motorists. Indeed this lady pictured drew up in her car just as I was preparing to take this photograph.

We have always known the founder of this shop as "the egg man". He has now handed the business on to his son-in-law and you can see that the variety of the stock has increased.

What is truly remarkable is that the business is completely run on honesty. There are no staff to assist you or to receive your money. The original owner told me that he only ever had a few cases of pilfering.

Mind you this type of business could only work in certain places because with some of the people and places I know even the wheels of the cart would get nicked.
