Shifted a couple of mobs of cattle around to different paddocks today. This mob of heifers all should calve by Xmas time. They had a good feed on the grass at the edge of the road on the journey. There's been a few dingoes spotted around their paddock, so they've been shifted closer to home. Newborn calves are easy prey for dingoes. We took a mob of younger heifers to that paddock instead- none are in calf, so they only have to protect themselves. With the drought, there is less food available for the the native and wild animal population and they are getting desperate. Tough old world out there.
