A Dog's Dinner

Heaven's Gate

We've just got in from the three and hours of cinematic eccentricity that is the beautiful, astonishing, epic film Heaven's Gate.

A film so huge that it destroyed the United Artists studio but now that it's being shown in its original edit it utterly delights with scenes that make you want to applaud for their sheer bravado and joy.

The cinematography is breathtaking set in an epic landscape, but there's very little chance of seeing it on the big screen after this run but a domestic version will just diminish the whole thing.

Hollywood as art. Wonderful.

Another great Filmhouse night at the flicks.
