Busking by the bridge

We are having an exceptionally beautiful Labor Day Weekend, and the warm, sunny day seduced us into a leisurely drive up to Vancouver, BC. Though there was quite a bit of backup at the border, it was still worth the wait when we arrived at Granville Island, in Vancouver.

The area where Granville Island sits, on False Creek, was originally an industrial manufacturing area, but has been completely spiffed up and turned into quite the trendy hotspot for tourists and locals alike. Featuring fresh fish, veggies, produce, pasta, cheese, chocolates, crafts, and a really fun assortment of shops and fine restaurants, it would be comparable to Pike's Market in Seattle, or Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, or Southstreet Seaport in NY (only with a lot more fresh fish and produce).

Today's warm weather brought out the crowds, and there was plenty of entertainment everywhere you turned. This young woman had an amazing voice with much more warmth and depth and richness than you would expect from someone her age and build.
