Edinburgh Mela

Went to the Edinburgh Mela. Unfortunately for them it was very windy, however people were still determined to enjoy themselves. Some good acts - very good dancers and a folk singer were my favourites.

The image is of a Dosa being made. We were told by a gentleman that it is from South India and he had been waiting to have one for some time. They have to be freshly made and cannot be packaged. It was filled with a spicy potato and onion mixture. We enjoyed it and the gentleman assured us it met with his expectations.

In the evening we went to the end of Festival fireworks. The mound was closed due to the windy weather and we were advised to go down to Princes Street. There are only a few places where you can see the castle because of the height of the trees in the garden. We were lucky to find a place to see most of it. At times the castle disappeared due to the smoke from the fireworks being blown across by the strong wind.
