Our Friends In The North

A rather surreal, and very different way to spend my twenty-tenth birthday - the heavily controlled buffer zone between North and South Korea.



Lots of soldiers, lots of razor wire, lots of reasons why reunification would benefit this divided peninsula - all very thought provoking anyway.



Less interesting was the random amethyst factory we were dragged to chaperoned around, where a lady tried very hard to convince me that my wife/girlfriend would really appreciate a select piece of garish purple tat. Little does she know...
