Everything Perth

This is part of a print I was given when the Perth Concert Hall was opened in 2005. Its one of those fantastically detailed prints with loads to look at. This part shows the Fair Maid of Perth with her house in the background. Salmon from the Tay. Some of the soldiers who came in and out of focus throughout the centuries. And the monks in the foreground, with the wheatsheaf. These may just be a reference to the various monasteries which abounded in the area - but I wonder if it isn't also a reference to St William of Perth. He started his life as a baker I think and it was his generosity which gave rise to the phrase 'a baker's dozen'.
