These are supposed to be light green in colour, and yes, they are macaroons...

To try to explain myself, the sugar syrup went crystallised and I couldn't be bothered to start again, so I blundered on through with big lumps of crystallised sugar in my mixture, and nowhere near enough green food colouring (I didn't want it to look luminous, but next time I'll use more than two drops).

But the good news is that they taste really good, and the smoked granary cob that I baked afterwards was delicious!
