After the rain

Another hot day was predicted, and also some rain and thunder. By the time I left for my planned cycle trip I knew I'd left myself open to a deluge but we dutch without cars are not afraid of a little weather. Besides, I could have left my bicycle anywhere and taken a bus of train back home to continue the trip later. I've started to appreciate that about Holland, despite missing the grand landscapes of Scotland and Switzerland sometimes. Dark clouds and increased wind warned me in time and I found myself a local library in bulb country and had a great hour with coffee and a book of 1001 gardens round the world. Looking forward to the days libraries and museums will always be open at night.
