It's one small step for man...

Forty years ago today a momentous thing happened, I was born - and also some dude walked on the moon, but I don't know much about that...

I spent my birthday travelling, first by foot wandering through the maze of alleys to the wonderful St Marks Square (impressive but very very busy) - then by water bus up the Grand Canal (where this shot was taken), then by train to Ancona via Bologna, and finally by boat - I spent the evening crossing the Adriatic on a ferry. The sky was a beautiful sight - the milky way spread above me, the almost still sea around me, and the still warm wind blowing over me.
