After the rain

Despite the weather forecast, I was determined to go to Wisley today for the Flower Show. It was cloudy, but the rain held off long enough for a scone and coffee on the patio, followed by a gentle stroll through the show stands to the glasshouse.

The Surrey NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) was exhibiting competitive floral arrangements there - and they were glorious, including arrangements which looked like a "Sushi Supper" (and good enough to eat!). It was also interesting to read the judges comments.

Suddenly the sound of people chatting was drowned out by a drumming on the roof - the skies had opened! Fortunately, there was plenty more to see in the glasshouse, and when I finally ventured out into the Prairie Meadow, fast becoming one of my favourite parts of the graden, the sun was shining and the flowers glistening.

The fine weather lasted for the rest of the day - so much for weater forecasts!
