Ironic Sunflower

Every year the Largs Viking Festival puts on a magnificent fireworks display to celebrate my birthday. I was going to walk up to Largs this afternoon and have my tea there while waiting for them, but the rain was just so terrible that I decided to have a quiet day in instead. I always think that Sunflowers are doing a sort of sarcastic silent protest in weather like this.

One of my favourite poems:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sunflowers are yellow
With a brown bit in the middle

Also:
There was a young man of Dunoon
Who took a rocket ship up to the moon.
When he got there it rained
And so he exclaimed.
"I might as well just have went to Largs for the day".
