M62 Trans-Pennine Motorway at Scammonden

The M62 Motorway passes over Scammonden Dam (which is the only place in Britain where a motorway is on the embankment of a reservoir) and then under Scammonden Bridge which, when it was built in 1971 - was the longest single-span non-suspension bridge in the world - and is still the longest concrete arch bridge in the UK.
An interesting place, which generally goes unnoticed by the millions of drivers who drive along the M62.
