Queenborough

Went to meet Jack for a drink on his yacht, which is now moored at Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey. Unfortunately the boatman had changed his hours so we were unable to get to the Yacht and spent the day in the yacht club. Outside the club they held the HMS Wildfire III commemorative parade and service. Wildfire III was the name given to the Royal Naval Patrol service based at Queenborough their job was to clear the mines in the Medway and Thames Estuaries. A few of those who carried out this dangerous work were at the service.
