Cowes Week fireworks

A tradition I remember fondly from my childhood. On the last Friday of Cowes Week there is always a fireworks display. When I was a child, coaches brought people from all over the Isle of wight to see them - now the local roads are filled with parked cars, not coaches!
The evening still attracts large crowds, but the atmosphere isn't quite the same- when I was little the crowd used to 'count' out loud as each firework 'burst' to reveal another one- that doesn't happen any more- people watch more quietly now
