Château de Sable

Sandcastle

A new arrival that should have arrived on Saturday arrived today…thank god, the poor people were only here for a week and they had broken down halfway between the port and the site. I think this was the most profit we made from Cheese and Wine this entire season as we had most of the site coming. This was also the most people we had ever had to cater for…luckily we guessed the correct amount of food and booze and everyone had a great time! The only problem we have is that people seem to have so much fun that they don’t want to leave until after it is dark! A wonderful evening was had by all, even though Thom hurt his shoulders from carrying various children around, and then playing guitar soon after it!

Kids Club was set on the beach this morning, with a sandcastle competition which lasted the entire two hours. They all put themselves into teams, and then started to make their castles. Two parents judged it, but we made sure that each set of children would get some sort of prize, because no one wants to be the only one to not win a prize! This meant our awards had to be pretty inventive; anything from ‘most historically accurate’ to ‘most innovative decoration’. The main thing was that the children were happy, their parents were happy – therefore we were also happy. Everyone wins!

It seems that Gizmo has now decided that the bed is where he is going to spend the majority of his time, lucky for me since I needed a photograph today!
