Little House

You can blame it on my biology background, but I seem to have a penchant for fungi and lichens when I'm shooting in the woods. I keep spotting new mushrooms and toadstools and wishing that I had a really good macro lens. Perhaps I will just have to make an investment and see where this takes me.

This particular fungus was found on the Little Devil's Stairs trail in Shenandoah National Park. This was actually my second and less successful hike in the park in the past week. I'm really feeling that I should try to fit as many hikes into the last half of this season as I can muster.
