Angoulême city from the Charente river

This morning we spent a nice morning along the river in Angoulême. I had to get back early afternoon as I have physio at 4...but the sky and warmth was great for a little walk and some photography...I was on the footbridge over the river Charente at 'le port de l'houmeau' when I took this shot. This port was used for transporting ammunition from Ruelle where it was manufactured (there are iron mines in the area), which was then shipped along the river to Rochefort where the naval arsenal was.
