Schacht II Oranje Nassau coolmine I

This shaft was, like most of Limburg mineshafts an iron shaft construction. Much of the shaft installation Shaft II was integrated into the laundry and preparation plant building, only the iron block construction shaft stuck above it.
The building around Shaft II rebuilt in 1981 as a replica of Shaft I. This visibility was 50 meters away and was surrounded by a tower-like building shaft.
The Romanesque Revival elements with real corner turrets symbolize strength and intransigence. The restoration are also materials from the demolished building Shaft I reused.
Shaft II of Orange Nassau Mine I reached in 1897 the coal seams, and in 1899 production could begin. The deepest point was 470 meters. The shaft was used for coal, materials and passengers, as well as ventilation.

The building is used as a mining museum. Inside and outside the building are all attributes that were used in the coal mine
