Picnic in the park

We decided to go a little further afield for this week's BWW today: Clissold Park in Stoke Newington. We all set off separately but I managed to catch the bus that Emily, Anna and Kelly were already on. And their boys of course. We went past Katrina at another bus stop but didn't have any more pushchair space for her to get on, though thankfully she caught an empty bus right behind us.

The weather was beautiful again so we lay out the blankets in a shady spot under the trees, threw a load of toys in the middle and let the boys have at them! Charlie was more interested in eating the grass and dried leaves as usual so I'd watch him crawl from one end of the blanket to the other then pick him up, turn him round and hope he'd go back in the opposite direction! He had all of his friends to distract him too, plus the different toys. The maracas seem to draw the most attention from everyone thought they're a bit lethal in the wrong hands!

Charlie was also showing off his new forehead bruise. He got it this morning when we were in his playroom. I was sat on the desk chair and he had crawled right to the base of it and was trying to stand up to reach me. He fell before I could grab him and banged his head hard on the metal legs :( It came up with a bruise straight away.

At 4pm I got a call from Rob saying he was heading home with a migraine. Myself, Emily and Kelly were ready to head off so we went to get the first bus back- which was rammed, and full of people with no common sense or decency to move out of the way to allow a pushchair through, despite there being space elsewhere in the bus. Why do some people insist on hovering near the back doors when upstairs is completely empty??
Rob was in bed when we got home so I did Charlie's bath again and he nodded straight off after. All that sun and exertion had obviously conked him out!
