"Missed the Boat"...

...Today - but after getting tangled up in Australia's Floral emblem - The Golden Wattle - (or Acacia pycnantha) on the riverbank again and ending up with just one bruise this time - (it's ok, I have a bandaid on it..) - I captured one of the hire houseboats cruising by instead...oh well, it makes for a little change, doesn't it..

...We did wait for the old paddle steamer to come by but she must have steamed past when I blinked because she was nowhere to be seen and when we drove up to the Landing, there she was, unloading the passengers of the day...too late I was today..but there'll be other days, and other scenes too..

...And so I read the Information Board for a change there at the landing and noted the times, as well information on the PS Melbourne and info on some dinner cruises, with entertainment as well, WOW and even a Winery Cruise - some days, now that sounded good and so now we might be better organized next time to catch them flying by..not bad for the old boats really..

...Pictured above, the cruising houseboat is really not that far from the Landing, and in the background you can see Lock Island - a man-created Island, dug out when the Weir and the Lock were built.

...The part of the river you see here is really a Channel and this is where all the Pelicans had a wonderful time, (seen in my earlier blips) when the Weir had to be repaired and the river was down...but today - not a pelican in sight, not even a seagull..but we'll see them again...
