Country garden

We took the back-road home from the vineyard today which is tiny and instantly makes you feel in the back of beyond. We saw three (yes, three!) magnificent European Rollers perched on the telephone wires but just couldn't get close enough for a decent photo on my tiny camera. A little further along we passed this garden. It's on the other side of the road from a lovely little stone house which sports a terribly pretty garden chockful of flowers and plants. Obviously, when there wasn't room for even one more pansy they took the sensible decision of borrowing the bit of waste-land opposite and making another garden there too. They haven't built any walls or fences or hedges, there's just the road and then the garden. I do hope the legal owners of the land like it as much as we do because it's a little gem.
