Local harvests - hazels

Most of the local hazelnuts have already been picked, usually using a sort of massive vacuum cleaner that sucks all the nuts from the bushes, but I managed to find this clump still attached.

I also managed to glean half a carrier-bagful from the ground underneath a neighbour's bushes. It's not scrumping as we've been told that we may do that, and they also told us to help ourselves to the almonds, so yesterday afternoon Jasper and I went and collected a bagful and they're now finishing drying off behind the Mas. Apart from tasting delicious, the furry outer casing of the almonds is good for burning when it's dried.
