Busy Little . . .

Hoverflies.

I'm just back from a committee meeting so a little later than usual this evening.

This afternoon, I was drawn towards this late-flowering hogweed which had over a dozen hoverflies buzzing around it, of which 5 or six were on the flowerhead seemingly in rotation.

As I moved in close to take this, one landed on my hand and another landed on the image of the flower on the camera screen. Now that would have made a novel blip if I'd had four hands and two cameras!

Then the rain started - gentle at first and then heavier so chances of alternative blips rapidly diminished as I headed back home.
