One of the panels of the Great Scottish Tapestry on display at the Parliament in Edinburgh and soon to go on tour. It's an ambitious yet brilliantly-achieved project using the community of stitchers from all over the country working to a design by one artist, Andrew Crummy. Alexander McCall Smith and historian Alistair Moffat also deserve great credit .
