Bruised and battered, but not destroyed

Spotted this damaged cone as I walked to work today: a parking cone that has come off the worst in a confrontation with a motorised carriage of some kind. It could also double as a wizard's hat or, perhaps, the sorting hat at Hogwarts.

It also made me think of Spurgeon's comment that we should train out minds to see illustrations of Bible truth in all we see. So here goes: this cone is like the world and like humanity: still recognisable as it was created to be, but battered and bruised, and needing a miracle to restore.
