The Last Typhoon Display

On Saturday 07.09.13 the last airshow was held at RAF Leuchars in Fife, Scotland. There has been aviation activity at Leuchars since 1911 when a balloon squadron of the Royal Engineers set up a training camp in Tentsmuir Forest. I have enjoyed attending the airshows at Leuchars for many years and I will miss these in the future. From 2015 the base will be an Army facility and, while that at least means that the base will have a future, it just won't be the same place as it was.
