National Chamber Music Day

Today was National Chamber Music Day, an annual event (now in its third year) organised by Enterprise Music Scotland, to introduce new audiences to the world of classical chamber music by enabling local music societies to present free live concerts in public spaces where such music is seldom (if ever) normally heard.

As part of this initiative, two local music societies - Inverurie Music and Monymusk Arts Trust - combined forces today to present the young Fraserburgh-born classical guitarist Ian Watt next to the coffee shop inside Anderson's Furniture Store on the edge of Inverurie.

Various interested and favourable comments were overheard from a number of shop staff and customers, obviously charmed by the exquisite music and the excellent acoustics of this unusual venue.
