Ripening nicely

Had an afternoon in the garden today and noticed that the berries on the fatsia japonica are beginning to ripen up. My garden blackbird, who loves them, had noticed too and kept his beady eye on me all the time I was getting my photo. When you look closely, the berries are like little buttoned cushions. Unfortunately they are poisonous, although apparently not to blackbirds.
