Lake District Mountain Trial

The Lake District Mountain Trial is a long distance, solo time trial for runners in the Cumbrian Mountains. Today was to have been the 60th running had bad weather not caused it to be cancelled, for the first time in the event's history.

The torrential rain was neither here nor there but the gale force winds prevented the marshals from reaching the first check point.

No reason not to enjoy the commemorative beer, though.
