Paris, day 2

Pont de la Concorde, the most beautiful bridge in Paris, at least of those bridges we saw.

After the hostel breakfast I and my partner took a metro to the square of Concorde and walked about 2-3 kilometres to Eiffel. Unfortunately there was a very long queue already, though we arrived 15 minutes after the tower was opened, so we decided to leave Eiffel for another day. First we payed a visit to the deaprtment store Galeries Lafayette. We aren't too much into shopping, but my girlfriend forgot to bring a long sleeve to Paris so we needed to buy one. The building was quite impressive from the inside, as it has a beautiful dome in the ceiling, built in 1912.

After Galeries La Fayette we headed to the cemetery Pere Lachaise. It was quite different from Finnish graveyards, some graves looked more like very small churches than graves! We saw the graves of Jim Morrison, Frederic Chopin and Oscar Wilde, among graves of less known persons.

After that it was time to eat. We bought some baguette, cheese and fruits from a grocery store nearby and ate them in a park. Many locals seemed to do the same. After that we went to a cafe to have some beer as it was too hot to walk (and we had already walked about 10km/6 mi).
