Une nonne tient un ballon

Yes, this is a nun holding a balloon with a happy face in the middle of Concarneau, and there is nothing wrong with that!

The morning was spent demontaging the various vans that had been vacated by the customers. We started pretty early in the morning so we could get a final visit into Concarneau in before everyone else arrived and I had to leave to go home.

We definitely took a bit more time than usual wandering around the town inside the ville close before heading up to take a tour of the walls. There were definitely parts of the fort that I hadn’t seen before, nor had Thom, but it was great to actually be able to spend some time having a ramble and a real explore! The problem is that not all of the wall sections are connected together, and the stairs up to the next section are not always visible, or are genuinely in disguise from non-residents! Feels strange to think that it was the last time I may ever go to that town.

Late afternoon we headed back onto site to visit all those customers who were leaving, meaning there were only two families left on-site after tomorrow. We then discovered that a family who were meant to be leaving tomorrow had already left, meaning that we could do another demontage today rather than having to work more on my birthday. Both a good and a bad thing really, as we didn’t get to say goodbye to a family we had got on well with, but at the same time it meant that we had got another van done!

After our work for the evening was done, we then set to wrapping birthday presents, Thom for tomorrow and me for the 13th…and as I wasn’t going to be in France for his birthday I also had to write some notes for all of the presents to explain why I had bought said present or something else, just in case we weren’t able to get into contact on his birthday as the internet back at Les Sables d’Olonne is awful! Don’t blame Thom too much for wrapping birthday presents the day before my birthday…we had genuinely had no other time to do them. The wrapping finished at about 2am, and both of us fell into bed knackered. And no, I didn’t open a present…not my birthday until a sleep!
