A concrete love affair

Stoneygate Tram Depot

This 1904 building was once one of several depots which served the Leicester tram fleet up until the systems closure in 1949. Since then it has seen use as a garage and railway museum. Now fortunately in the hands of Leicester Transport Heritage Trust the building, the most original remaining depot, is raw and beautiful. A monument to a bygone form of urban transport.
