Pass the Platter, Please...

This is the Santa Cruz Water Lily. It is sometimes called the Platter Lily. When fully mature it's leaves can be 4-5.5 inches in diameter. It is also Thermogentic or Heat Producing and uses this Heat to help attract Pollinating Bees.

Although this unusual water lily originates in South America...this one resides at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, Gainesville, FL.
