First time buyers

Rob and Vicky outside their new home today, having placed that first nervous step on the housing ladder. They have very little furniture and will be spending their first night here tonight on an air bed as they're waiting for various things to be delivered. But the main thing is that they're in.

I was trying to recall our first house and remembered we had it a few months before moving in, the reason being that over thirty years ago our parents would have been shocked had we announced plans to move in together before we were married. Rob and Vicky have just got engaged but have yet to set a date for their wedding. We all met up with youngest son, George, for dinner in the evening. He's in a grotty very basic bedsit for at least the next six months while he looks for something a little better. But he's in good spirits and was on good form over dinner. The boys are coming along well. John, the eldest, is still renting in London. It's so hard for young people to afford their own place today.
