On The Ward

Bit of a hectic time today; the pile of work I've had to get done has been daunting in itself, and not exactly helped by a sudden and unexpected request from my mother to accompany her to Accident & Emergency after she contrived to have a brick wall collapse on her foot.

So, behold the brightly-lit oasis of Sandwell Hospital A&E, where I've spent a good chunk of the evening. Thankfully, it was a relatively painless experience for all concerned; despite being busy, the staff worked their arses off to see everyone in good time and deliver the highest standard of service. A quick x-ray revealed nothing broken in my mother's foot, and a tetanus shot was all that was required.

Sadly, the pile of work failed to complete itself in the meantime, so no rest for the wicked. Hopefully tomorrow will be pleasantly devoid of accidents and emergencies.
