Discovering a Loss

This evening we originally planned on seeing a new-born and ended up disovering the loss of the beloved grandmother of my girlfriend.
She fell asleep the night before and probably never woke up.
When we got there she was still "asleep" and the ambulance personel had just declared her official death. A sad moment with big impact on the family.
