Old Age Slabbers

These guys must be insane!

This is where we normally stand when we watch the Mighty Shots. However, tonight was monsoon season in Hampshire, so Bill and I took the more cowardly option and went under the roof in the East Bank. This little piece of concrete is known as the Slab, and we inhabitants are affectionately known as Old Age Slabbers. When I go, I bring down the average age quite considerably! Although clearly not when Gazweasel comes with me ;-)

Entertaining game tonight where we went ahead after 4 minutes and never looked in any trouble for the remainder of the first half. No idea what Edgar Davids put in the half-time cup of tea, but Barnet came out buzzing in the second half, and for 20 minutes had us totally on the back foot. We only conceded once during this onslaught, and then caught them twice on the break to go 3-1 ahead. Sadly, they scored twice in the last 12 minutes, and it finished up 3-3. I'd have been disappointed with a point if offered at half-time; delighted with a point after 15 minutes of the second half, and obviously really disappointed with a point after being 3-1 up with only 12 minutes to go! Such is the roller-coaster that goes with supporting the Mighty Shots.

Well done lads. Unlucky tonight, but put it behind you and get ready for Wrexham on Saturday
