Weather

Morning – teaching
Afternoon – interview for more teaching
Evening – preparing teaching

In between times my bike, my camera and I got soaked.

I've been sneaking poetry (about the weather) into my classes by telling students they are judging a poetry competition. Each group of four students can give each poem up to ten points for its meaning, up to ten points for its sound and up to ten points if it makes them feel anything. Then we aggregate the class marks. I'm astounded that Robert Frost (Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening) and Christina Rossetti (Who has Seen the Wind?) are outstripping the modern, the doggerel and the funny. They have no idea they are appreciating the canon!
