From the Kitchen Window....

This is the view.

It was late when I got this blip. Too late. It's still in the upper 90's here during the day, but those days are getting rapidly shorter -- and my evening forays at dusk have to happen an hour earlier than a month ago. September is whittling away to nothing and I have no idea where it has gone. The 18th??? Really?? No! You've gotta be kidding me! Surely you jest?

Please do a rain dance for us -- the big possibility comes on Friday. We really, really need a nice, soaking rain, gentle but steady. Nothing too harsh or breezy. We have B&B guests coming and we don't need to lose power. Out here in the country, wires are above ground and so are the pine trees :) and when the wind blows, the pine boughs bow. They touch the wires and Whammo! The electricity is gone. Sometimes our guests get into the spirit of things and consider it a Great Adventure but more likely, they will head for the nearest motel. We are the last one on the Rural Electric line. Everyone closer to town is on the city's electrical company. The REA area extends 100 miles to our south and east and they get a LOT of storms. So when the sun is shining and the wind is still and the power is gone, we check the weather southeast of us and sure enough....
