and Constable exhibition at Compton Verney

I had never been to Compton Verney before.. what a setting!! The landscape was designed by Capability Brown and the interior of the house by Robert Adam. Now it is run by the Compton Verney House Trust as an art gallery and they have been showing some sketches made by Turner and Constable en plein air. Fascinating to see them.. perhaps for the first time as they are just sketches and therefore have probably not been on show before. A friend offered me a ticket to see this and I really look forward to going back to see more of their collection and also to future exhibitions.
