Still life with little thought or care

I had studio time at college today. One of our briefs is a still life to illustrate a recipe. I'm still thinking about what I want to actually do as far as the brief goes, so I just grabbed some fruit in the morning and ad libbed with some newspaper while I had a wee fiddle with the lights.

Fairly happy to plan my shoot now. Just need to have a nosey about for some props. See who has some nice kitchen wear I can borrow.

Now that I look at this again, it sort of looks like an abstract attempt at depicting an elephant on meth amphetamine.
