Oil Tanker

At this time of the year our waking house is often welcomed by a sunrise.
Glorious colours and reflections on the river this morning and a ship on the horizon.

Due to the wonders of t'internet I know exactly which ship that is; a very large oil tanker. The Overseas Portland is 250m long, 44m wide and 13 miles away. It's been moored up there for the last few days. I'm not sure why.
These tankers are often seen on the River Tay bringing heavy, viscous crude oil from Venezuela, to the Nynas refinery at Dundee where it's refined into bitumen and destined for a road or shed roof near you, soon!
