Manchester again this evening to go and see the awesome Catfish and the Bottlemen at Night and Day Cafe in the Northern Quarter.

The Lottery Winners opened the show. If you like your music with jangly guitars and groovy basslines then these guys will be right up your street. Sitting somewhere between The Smiths and The Beach Boys, great lyrics are melded with riffs so catchy and danceable even the most cynical Northern Quarter Hipsters were tapping their feet along!

Catfish and the Bottlemen are a band out of North Wales who came to Lancaster a couple of years ago and I've followed their trajectory ever since. They write catchy as hell, balls to the wall indie rock songs with a maturity beyond their collective years. Definitely worth checking out as the next 12 months could see them break out of the toilet scene and onto bigger and better things.
