Wishing a Wish

This is a new one for me, but perhaps it was the ex-royal Fergie who started the trend of a foot fetish which has lead to tourists rubbing the toes ( but not as far as I know, sucking them) on the David Hume statue outside the High Court, and presumably making a wish to be as enlightened a philosopher as he in that period of the 18th century.

The result of this is that he now has shiny brass coloured toes on his right foot.

People are also doing the same thing to the nose of Greyfriars Bobby the dog statue outside Greyfriars Kirk, giving him a yellow nose in contrast to blackness of the rest of him. They are also laying sticks on his grave, which I find very strange but amusing nevertheless.

Thank you all for the lovely comments yesterday on our wedding anniversary.
We have been very well behaved today, no arguments or raised voices; we feel a certain obligation to live up to my words of yesterday.

In fact we have had a delightful morning of window shopping in town, reacquainting ourselves with the delights of John Lewis, that store of equal opportunities.
We took the exciting opportunity to invest in some disposable bin liners.
