Kleine Scheidegg

As I said yesterday, Alpine weather, in the autumn, can be a bit unpredictable. When we pulled back the curtains we could see blue skies, and snow covered mountain tops, so we started today by repeating (in reverse), the second half of yesterday’s walk, getting the cable car up to Mannlichen and finally getting our ‘permanent views’ of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. The hotels and stations at Kleine Scheidegg look rather more inviting in sunshine than they had in sleet 24 hours earlier.

We completed the day by walking most of the way down into Grindelwald, before succumbing to the temptation of the train for the last steep descent.
