Brienzsee

We finally came down out of the mountains to spend a few nights in Lucerne – as with most of our moving days we got to use a variety of transport. Today it was train, boat, funicular railway and foot. In most places a complex collection of different modes of transport would induce ‘connection-anxiety’, but not in Switzerland. Our travel passes came in a little wallet with the slogan ‘Imagine a country where public transport is always on time’. This isn’t strictly always true, we did see one train that was almost three minutes late!

The walk bit of today was along the shore of Lake Brienz, and once I’ve got past my high-tech Bond villain-phase (see 9th Sept) I could be persuaded to consider this as my lake-side residence.
