Gillipaw's Journal

Kirk Lane Burial Ground, Pollokshaws, Glasgow

I've lived on the south-side of Glasgow for more than thirty years, and this is the first time I've ever ventured into this small cemetery.

It is surrounded by flats, across the road from the Lidl supermarket. From a quick internet search, it seems there was a church building here at one time. There is more to discover, so I'll be back. As I stood here, I wondered about James Dick Wright, what did he do, what was his wife called, how many children did he have? Interesting that the words can be easily read on a stone dated 1704.

Taken on my Canon Powershot G15, using the Nostalgic setting, with the second level of aging effect. I think it works rather well.
