Slowly Does It...

Strange weather today, overcast but so mild, 19.5 degrees!

Perfect weather for an autumnal foraging foray!!

Whilst out blackberrying, I came across this very brave snail. To get to where he was, not only had he scaled to a height of around 4 feet, but his route was through a tangle of thorny brambles and stingy nettles. He certainly fared better than I did.

(Note to self: next time you go blackberry picking, remember to wear long sleeves and don't wear white!!)

I have no idea what sort of snail he is, but he was very pretty and shiny! Maybe somebody out there is a snail expert and can enlighten me.

So with 4lbs of berries picked, tomorrow is Jam Making Sunday! (Hopefully it'll work this time, and not turn into toffee!!)
